Here’s the scenario you and your lovely self are out and about looking to restock your Pro MUA Kit. Because we all know that’s what you do when your kits inventory is low. If you’re anything like me I’ve got a list I get what’s on that list and run out (for fear of what we call in the Caribbean being “Long Eye”=wanting more than what you can intake)!!

You have someone assisting you (they’re sweet and attentive) and there you are all stocked up at the cash register trying not to look around any further because you know you’ve already broken the bank and they didn’t even start ringing up the merchandise yet!!

They ask you…”Will you be using your Pro Card or Credit Card with us today? 

You say : “Yes I have my Pro Card right here….then you begin fumbling through your wallet (full of plastic cards and business cards with frayed ends)…..and now you’re all in your head going “Ooooops! I Did It Again….I went to the Pro Boutique and I flippin forgot my Pro Card!!!” 
 

Well now you can’t find your card (you’re slightly embarrassed because you’re supposed to be a “Pro”) and now the next scenario goes a little something like this….

“No problem ________we can look you up in our system if you just give me one moment while I pull up your account with us. Hhhumm, there seems to be a problem, it looks like your card has expired and wasn’t renewed and updated in the system.”

Eeeeeek gads! So you mean we’ve got to go through this song and dance all over again and maybe pay a fee?! Ugh!!!!

  
Well, if this has happened to you before? Look we’ve all got busy schedules and sometimes things just slip through our hands. Those are the moments you wished you had a personal assistant to keep track of all of those do dads! 

Might I suggest something to make you’re checkout a lot easier…just like you have an Excell Spreadsheet for your other business commitments this might be a great opportunity to create one for all of your go-to Pro Discount Affiliates and update all of your info!

  Now more than ever more companies are up to date with their Artist Relations some companies even have special departments just to care for the needs of their Pro Artist community as they understand that we help their business on a freelance level to bring brand awareness and exposure to a product or company.

So, I would say maybe 3 times within the year just to have a little update on all of your contact affiliates in the Artist Relations and PR departments that honor Pro discounts. Updating your contacts is always wise because people do come and go and you always want to build a great rapport with all affiliates.

Also when you are applying for Pro Cards and Pro Discount Programs be sure you have these items updated as well:

1. State Drivers License 
2. Photo ID 
3. Valid Current Union Card
4. Editorial/Tear Sheets w your named credited
5. Business License 
6. State Board Certification (Cosmetology/Estheticians License)
7. Website
8. IMDB Profile
9. Agency Comp Card
10. Crew/Call Sheet with your name listed
11. Letter of Employment on Company Letterhead
12. Diploma from Acredited Licenced Beauty School 

Also keep in mind that each company’s discount policy rate is different it can be anywhere between 10%-50%. 50% is usually the normal maximum Artist Discount.
