MY NAME IS PRINCE AND I AM FUNKY! MY NAME IS PRINCE THE ONE AND ONLY!

These lyrics come from the album Love Sign and the song is called “My Name Is Prince”. When I first heard it, it made me think about ones name and how we all fight to keep our names, our identity, our reputation. 

Prince reminded me the value of my name and my gifts that would eventually be synonymous with my name. In the song he goes on to say “My name is Prince and I didn’t come to mess around”… I thought you know what neither did I (me NZINGHA)! 
I didn’t come in this business to mess around! 

Once I figured out that being a Makeup Artist was my career path, I made a decision…
1) That I did not come in this business to mess around and that I was striving to be a great Makeup Artist that I was going to be EXCELLENT a word my Mum used all my life.
2) That my name NZINGHA would not be taken lightly and that it would proceed me and be synonymous with excellent work.

Prince was the reason I persued my Artistry so fiercely. I wanted to reach that level of excellence in MY Artistry as a Makeup Artist. His “brand model” became my muse for how I would choose to present my gifts to the world.
